Fire Risk Assessments keeping you, your visitors and your colleagues safe!

An essential part of anyones fire safety plans

Macdonald Martin Fire Risk Assessment Consultants have over 20 years experience of carrying out Fire Risk Assessments within Schools, NHS, Offices, hotels, retaurants, take aways and rented accomodation.

Macdonald Martin Fire Safety Consultants have over 40 consultants currently acting as competent persons, all professionally qualified within either the Institution of Fire Engineers or the Institute of Fire Prevention Officers.  Our Fire Safety Consultants are both current and ex-senior ranking fire brigade officers with an unprecedented depth of knowledge and experience in fire protection, safety, prevention and enforcement.

We provide a range of comprehensive fire risk assessment services and solutions for both single and multi-site organisations that do not have suitably qualified, trained or experienced fire safety personnel within their workplaces.

Fire risk assessments carried out correctly can help identify all possible risks of fire and identify methods that can be put in place to prevent these risks.

Don't receive a hefty fine - Fire Risk Assessments explained

The new Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRFSO) came into force on 1st October 2006.

The order applies in England and Wales (Northern Ireland and Scotland have their own laws). It covers 'general fire precautions' and other fire safety duties which are needed to protect 'relevant persons' in case of fire in and around most 'premises'. The order requires fire protection to be put in place "where necessary" and to the extent that it is reasonable and practicable in the circumstances of the case.

The order firmly places a responsibility on anyone who has control of premises or anyone who has a degree of control over certain areas or systems (a "Responsible Person" ) and outlines all the measures that must be taken to ensure the safety of all the people he/she is either directly or indirectly responsible for. The "Responsible Person" is required to ensure the completion of a Fire Risk Assessment and to take suitable steps to remove or reduce fire hazards.

Although the "Responsible Person" may carry out the fire risk assessment, they can also pass this task to some other competent person.
